Lumières - Live Podcast Launch
About this Event
We are launching our podcast live to celebrate science’s progress, to share big ideas from different fields of expertise, and to find inspiration through people’s stories – a unique experience in Toronto!

Lumières is an independently produced podcast about making knowledge more accessible through candid conversations with experts worldwide. We are two self-funded rebels and our aim is to inspire a collective change through real-world stories. So, we share with you the passion, big ideas and wisdom learnt through the successes and failures of people who are making a difference. Our friends and guests include scientists, engineers, doctors, entrepreneurs and beyond.

Our big dream is to connect different fields of expertise to create a greater understanding of the world that we live in and how we can make it better together. In the spirit of this, a select panel of experts will talk about their current projects, the significance of their work for the community, and share with us a life defining moment in their career.

Each speaker is given 5-10 minutes and is challenged to only use 1 image. There’s a Q&A session at the end and a 1 minute open pitch, as well as time for mingling and drinks!

Agenda

6:30 - 7:00 pm: Registration, meeting fellow scientists and science enthusiasts, drinks and food (see ticket options - HST included!).

7:00 - 8:50 pm: Lumières presentations: 7 speakers, 5-10 min presentation each, 1 slide each + Q&A. At the end, 1 minute open pitch: an opportunity for anyone in the audience to talk about their research, project, upcoming event etc.

8:50 - 9:30 pm: More mingling and drinks with fellow scientists and science enthusiasts.
